Start here. This page is about getting you to the right kind of help quickly, and being honest about which parts of that help TIMOMAX can give you today.

Before anything else

TIMOMAX is not an emergency service. There is no staffed line here and nobody is watching this page. If an animal is badly hurt, collapsed, struggling to breathe, bleeding heavily or has been hit by a vehicle, stop reading and telephone a veterinary practice now. If a person is in danger, call 911.

Do not wait for a website, a message or a volunteer while an animal is deteriorating.

What is happening?

Different problems need different first calls.

The single most common mistake is ringing the wrong kind of organisation first and losing hours to it. A rescue cannot enter a property. A shelter cannot treat a wound. Animal control does not run a hospital.

Being straight with you

What TIMOMAX cannot do for you today.

TIMOMAX is being built as a live network — which shelter has room tonight, which practice is open now, which volunteer can drive at short notice. That network is not running yet.

We could publish a directory today by scraping opening hours and guessing at capacity. Every other directory does. We are not going to, because at nine in the evening with a frightened animal in the car, a guess sends you across a city for nothing.

  • There is no live capacity, availability or opening-hours data on this site yet. When there is, every figure will carry who said it and when.
  • There is no staffed hotline, and there will not be one advertised until it actually exists and is staffed.
  • Ask TIMOMAX is not live here yet. The guidance pages on this site are the same material it draws on.

What is here is real: general guidance written to be useful on the worst night, and honest about where it ends.
